Marc Donald Soucy, 59, of Cary, North Carolina, a fire engineer with the Cary Fire Department, was charged on February 18, 2026, with two counts of second‑degree sexual exploitation of a minor in connection with evidence gathered during an ongoing investigation into an October 2025 incident involving child sexual material.

Cary police announced the charges Thursday, saying Soucy allegedly duplicated sexual material involving minors between the ages of about 10 and 13. Court records show he was taken into custody and held without bail at the Wake County Detention Center.

The following day, additional charges were filed, bringing the total to more than 20 counts of second‑degree sexual exploitation of a minor involving images dating back to 2014 and depicting girls as young as 5 years old. Soucy has worked with the Cary Fire Department since 2001.
