Squatty Potty creator faces child pornography charges in Utah

On February 10, 2026, a federal grand jury in Utah indicted Robert "Bobby" Edwards, co-creator of the toilet stool brand Squatty Potty, on a charge of receipt of child pornography.

Edwards, 50, of Ivins, Utah, was arrested on February 12, 2026, in Washington County. Authorities allege he knowingly received multiple videos and images of child sexual abuse material between March 2021 and November 2025. Edwards pleaded not guilty to the charge during his initial court appearance and was ordered held without bail.

Court documents state that an undercover agent joined an online group chat used to trade child sexual abuse material, where Edwards was allegedly identified as a participant. Prosecutors also allege that financial transactions tied to Edwards’ account were flagged by investigators and that law enforcement found explicit files on electronic devices after executing a search warrant. A detention hearing is scheduled for March 2, 2026.
