The Five Pecks of Rice movement, also known as the Way of the Celestial Masters, began in the Sichuan region of China. Founded by Zhang Daoling, it became one of the earliest organized Taoist religious movements.
This movement emphasized communal organization, spiritual reform, and was notable for its socio-religious administrative system. It played a significant role in the development of religious Taoism during the late Han Dynasty.
