On January 28, 2026, the tenth annual CARE Crisis Report was published, identifying the ten most under‑reported humanitarian crises of 2025 worldwide. The report found that the Central African Republic received the fewest online articles despite more than 2.4 million people needing assistance. Other overlooked crises with millions affected include Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, Honduras, North Korea, Angola, Burundi, Zimbabwe and Madagascar, with food insecurity, displacement and malnutrition widespread. The report also noted a decline in global humanitarian aid budgets and stressed that lack of media attention often leads to insufficient funding for critical relief efforts.
