Peter John Dalglish, a Canadian humanitarian worker and former United Nations official, was arrested by Nepal police on April 8, 2018, on charges of child sexual abuse and pedophilia. He was detained in the Kavrepalanchowk district north of Kathmandu after authorities rescued two boys, aged 12 and 14, from his residence.

The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police charged Dalglish with sexually abusing the boys, alleging he had lured them with promises of education and foreign travel before committing the crimes. Dalglish denied the charges at the time.

After a trial in Nepal, Dalglish was convicted in June 2019 of sexually abusing the two boys and was sentenced in July 2019 to concurrent prison terms totaling nine years. He was also ordered to pay compensation to his victims. The conviction and sentence were upheld in 2020 when the Patan High Court reduced his jail term from nine to eight years.

Before his arrest, Dalglish was known for founding the charity Street Kids International and serving in senior roles with humanitarian organizations, including as country representative for UN‑Habitat in Afghanistan.
