Qismah Ali Omar. Abduction and death in Darfur

Qismah Ali Omar, a 22-year-old Sudanese tea seller, was reported missing in Zalingei, Central Darfur, in early September 2025. Witnesses indicated that she was abducted by unidentified armed individuals.

Following her abduction, Qismah Ali Omar was subjected to torture. Local authorities confirmed her death on September 15, 2025. Her body was recovered near the outskirts of Zalingei, showing multiple signs of violence.

The abduction and killing have drawn attention from local human rights organizations, who documented the case as part of ongoing violence in Central Darfur. Investigations by regional authorities are ongoing to identify the perpetrators and the motive behind the attack.
