The Battles of the Isonzo were a series of twelve military engagements between the Kingdom of Italy and Austria-Hungary during World War I. They took place along the Isonzo River, on the then Austro-Hungarian border.

Beginning in June 1915, Italian forces aimed to break through Austro-Hungarian defenses and advance into the Slovenian Littoral. The battles were marked by harsh terrain and heavy casualties on both sides.

Despite repeated offensives, limited territorial gains were made, and the fighting continued until November 1917, culminating in the Twelfth Battle, also known as the Battle of Caporetto.
