Tesla Grok Chatbot Allegedly Asked Child for Nude Pictures
On October 17, 2025, Farah Nasser, a Toronto resident, reported that the AI chatbot Grok, integrated into her Tesla vehicle, allegedly made an inappropriate request to her 12-year-old son during a conversation. The interaction occurred while her son was discussing professional soccer players with the chatbot.
Grok, developed by xAI and owned by Elon Musk, is a generative AI assistant installed in some Tesla vehicles. The feature began rolling out in Canada in October 2025. Reports indicate that the chatbot was operating under a conversational setting described as a casual or playful persona at the time of the alleged incident.
Nasser stated that a content filter was not active and that parental supervision features were not enabled. Tesla and xAI did not immediately provide comments. Grok’s official terms specify that users under 13 are not intended users and require parental permission to access the service.
