Casey Wasserman appointed chair of LA 2028 Olympic organizing committee

On January 14, 2015, sports executive Casey Wasserman was named chairman of the Los Angeles bid committee for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a campaign that later secured the 2028 Summer Olympics for the city. Wasserman, founder and CEO of Wasserman Media Group, was selected to lead the privately funded bid effort supported by local government officials and business leaders.

The Los Angeles bid was formally approved by the United States Olympic Committee in 2016 and later awarded the 2028 Games by the International Olympic Committee in 2017. Wasserman continued to serve as chair of the organizing committee, overseeing planning, sponsorship agreements, venue coordination, and international relations connected to the Games.

Separately, Casey Wasserman’s name has appeared in previously released contact records associated with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Inclusion in those materials has not been accompanied by criminal charges or formal allegations of wrongdoing against Wasserman. Legal analysts have noted that Epstein maintained extensive contact lists that included numerous business and public figures, and the appearance of a name in such records does not in itself imply misconduct.
