Former MP Rory Amon admits meeting 13-year-old boy in car park toilet case

Rory Amon, former New South Wales Liberal Party MP for Pittwater, appeared in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in March 2026 facing charges related to sexual offences involving a minor. Prosecutors stated that Amon had arranged a meeting with the individual through online communication prior to the incident.

The alleged meeting took place at an apartment complex on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Authorities reported that Amon was accused of engaging in unlawful sexual activity with the minor at the location. The identity of the minor has not been disclosed to protect legal privacy.

During court proceedings, Amon acknowledged meeting the individual but claimed he did not know the person was underage. He pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including sexual offences involving a child. Evidence, including digital communications and testimony, was reviewed during the trial.
