The revolt of Gordian I was a significant uprising against the Roman Emperor Maximinus Thrax in 238, known as the Year of the Six Emperors. Senatorial opposition to Maximinus' harsh rule led to Gordian I being proclaimed emperor in Africa Proconsularis.

Gordian I and his son Gordian II ruled jointly but faced immediate military opposition. The rebellion was quickly suppressed, leading to the defeat and death of Gordian II and the suicide of Gordian I, but it marked a notable resistance to imperial autocracy.
