Palmyra Queen's Defeat and Capture

Queen Zenobia of Palmyra was captured following the Roman Emperor Aurelian's siege of her capital. Her defeat marked the end of the Palmyrene Empire's attempt to assert independence from Rome.

The capture effectively restored Roman control over the eastern provinces and curtailed the power of Palmyra, which had risen to prominence during the crisis of the third century.
