Mighty Magiswords creator Kyle Carrozza arrested on child pornography charges

On June 20, 2024, animator Kyle Carrozza, known for creating the Cartoon Network animated series “Mighty Magiswords,” was arrested in Burbank, California on two counts of possession of child pornography. The arrest was part of an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation.
Carrozza, 45, was taken into custody by the Burbank Police Department and charged under California Penal Code 311.11(a) for possession of child pornography and an enhanced 311.11(c) charge for knowingly possessing at least 12 videos or 600 images of child pornography. If convicted, the charges carry a potential sentence of up to five years in state prison and a requirement to register as a sex offender.
Carrozza has an extensive background in children’s animation. He worked as a storyboard artist and animator for Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Apple TV+.. He is best known for creating “Mighty Magiswords,” which debuted online in 2015 and later aired as a full television series in 2016.
Following the public reporting of his arrest, several collaborators and organizations associated with Carrozza publicly disassociated from him. The case remains active, and Carrozza is currently in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
