Intel announced plans on August 10, 2026, to raise approximately 15 billion dollars through the sale of additional shares as the semiconductor company continued financing its manufacturing expansion and restructuring.
The equity financing provides Intel with additional capital for semiconductor fabrication facilities and other investments. Issuing additional shares increases available corporate funding but also increases the number of shares outstanding.
Intel has increased investment in manufacturing capacity while seeking to strengthen its position in processors used for data centers and artificial intelligence systems. The company projected approximately 20 billion dollars in capital spending during 2026.
The financing follows earlier measures involving cost reductions, changes to capital spending, asset transactions, and outside investment in manufacturing projects. Intel has also pursued arrangements involving semiconductor facilities in the United States and Europe.
The transaction occurs during increased government and corporate investment in semiconductor manufacturing because advanced chips are used in artificial intelligence, communications, defense systems, vehicles, industrial equipment, and other strategic technologies.
