Kuwait School Bombed in Northern Gaza, Casualties Reported

On February 6, 2026, the Kuwait School in northern Gaza was struck by aerial bombing, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. Local health authorities reported at least 18 deaths, including five children under the age of 12, and more than 40 injured, many with severe burns and shrapnel wounds.

Witnesses stated that the attack occurred during morning hours when students were inside classrooms. The school, which serves as both an educational and community center, suffered extensive structural damage, with several buildings partially collapsed.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the strike targeted facilities allegedly used by militant groups for planning attacks. Palestinian authorities and humanitarian organizations condemned the bombing as disproportionate and highlighted the high number of civilian casualties.

Emergency medical teams transported the injured to nearby hospitals, many of which reported shortages of blood supplies and critical care capacity. Rescue workers continued to search for survivors under the rubble through the day.

International organizations called for restraint and urged all parties to respect civilian areas, including schools and medical facilities. No independent verification of military claims was immediately available.
