Severus Crowned Roman Emperor

Septimius Severus was proclaimed emperor by his troops following the death of Emperor Pertinax. This marked the beginning of the Severan dynasty and significant changes in Roman imperial rule.

Severus consolidated his power through military strength and eventually secured control over Rome. His reign established new precedents for the role of the military in political affairs.
